SECTION 1:

If you have been awarded a scholarship from an outside scholarship agency, please have your scholarship check sent to the mailing address below along with the following information.

  1.    Make the scholarship check out to:     Santa Barbara City College
  2.    Include the student's name and SBCC student ID number (K#)
  3.    Mail the scholarship check to:

All received scholarship checks will be split equally between the Fall and Spring semesters. If the scholarship is for one semester only, please indicate this on the check itself or in a letter accompanying the check.   • Santa Barbara Women Lawyers (Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg Tribute Scholarship FOR ALL STUDENTS. All other scholarships listed are just for law students.)

Community College League of California 2024 Scholarship Award Application

The scholarships are funded by the proceeds of the book "College for all Californians: A History of the California Community Colleges." Awardees will be selected by the book's co-authors, Community College League of California President & CEO Larry A. Galizio and George Boggs, as well as members of the League Board of Directors. 


DEADLINE: March 31st, 2024

Amount: $1,000
Number of scholarships: 10

Eligibility Criteria:

    • Enrolled currently in at least six (6) units at one or more California Community College
    • In good academic standing
    • Minimum overall 2.0 GPA
    • California resident
    • Employed at least 10 hours/week
    • Personal statements are required
 
In their application, students should submit responses to the following questions. Please limit your answers to 150 words or less:
    • How has the opportunity to attend community college helped you/your family?
    • What are your plans for the future?
    • How will these funds assist you in pursuing your education?

 

Additional Information:

All forms must be completed and submitted by the stated deadline, no exceptions. A personal statement is required. Students will be notified if selected in May 2024 by CC League. Please see the scholarship application linked above for more information.


2023 CCCSFAAA Scholarship Application

DEADLINE: TBD for Spring 2024

Amount: $500
Number of scholarships per region: 2

Eligibility Criteria:

    • Enrolled in at least 6 units for the Spring 23 semester at SBCC
    • Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
    • Must have remaining financial need of at least $1,000
    • Student must have applied for the 2022-23 FAFSA or CADAA
    • Personal statement is required

 

Additional Information:

All forms must be completed and submitted by the stated deadline, no exceptions. A handwritten signature is required on the application form. A personal statement is required. Students will be notified by mail if selected in May 2023 by CCCSFAAA. The scholarship award will be processed by the SBCC Financial Aid Office. The California Legislative Central Coast Caucus Foundation (CLCCCF) serves the five counties of the California Central Coast: Santa Cruz, Monterey, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura. The CLCCCF is a 501(C)(3) tax exempt, charitable, non-profit organization that promotes and supports education on issues important to communities across the California Central Coast. The CLCCCF is proud to provide educational scholarships of $2,000 each to students from the five counties that make up the California Central Coast.

2024 CCCSFAAA Scholarship Application (Click here to apply)

DEADLINE: May 31st, 2024

Amount: $2,000
Number of scholarships: At least one per county

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for scholarship consideration, prospective candidates must meet the following requirements: 

    • Reside in one of the following California Central Coast counties: Santa Cruz, Monterey, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, or Ventura.
    • Be a full-time student (undergraduate or graduate) in good academic standing at an accredited college or university, OR
    • Be a graduating high school senior with written proof of acceptance at an accredited institution of higher learning.
    • Have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 out of 4.0
    • Submit a completed application along with all required supplementary documents by the application deadline. 

The following information must be submitted online for consideration:

    • Completed Application
    • Signed Visual/Audio Image Release Form in case you are chosen as a recipient
    • Resume
    • Two Recommendation Letters
    • School Transcript (Official or Unofficial)
    • Acceptance letter to the school student  will attend during the next school year (for prospective undergraduate, transfer, and graduate students)

Please note: 

    • Items submitted separately will not be considered
    • If you are selected to receive a scholarship, a photo/headshot will be requested for promotional materials

Key Dates:

    • APRIL 15, 2024 – Application Available Online (click here to apply)
    • May 31, 2024 – Deadline for Submission of Applications
    • All applications must be submitted online by 11:59 pm PST on MAY 31, 2024
    • Late applications will NOT be accepted
    • Paper applications will NOT be accepted
    • JULY 1, 2024 – Notification Emailed to Scholarship Recipients (recipients will be posted online and shared with press on July 1 or asap afterwards)
